Each month we will pick a story to turn into a song.

We believe that your greatest weapon against the influence of advertising is having the tools to interpret what you see and a place to celebrate your struggles. When you are solid in your own self-worth, you can’t be manipulated.

So Tell Your Truth! Write us a story that’s a few paragraphs long about a struggle that you’ve overcome that has made you who you are. Each month, we’ll pick one of these stories as the subject and lyrical inspiration for a new song, which will be available for download on this site. So this is your chance to finally have a song written for you! The line forms after that girl Delilah.

What makes a good song fodder?

--Be descriptive.
      Good: It took everything in me not to lash out at her. Those two seconds ... went by like years. I took a long blink and said, “This is over.
     
      Bad: I told all the haters to suck it.

--Tell us how you felt.
      Good songs really cut to an emotional moment. So describe it the best you can. Details like who, what and when are important, but the real diamonds are in your reaction to the who, what and when.

--Give us names of the characters in the story.
      Sweet Caroline? Sometimes names lend themselves well to sing along!

You understand that so-called “life rights” are not copyrightable as they are based on fact and not creative expression however when your User Story is submitted to us or the Website, certain elements may be copyrightable by you. By sending, emailing, posting or otherwise transmitting to us or this Website any User Stories, (collectively, the "Submissions"), you are agreeing that we can create Derivative Works based on the Submissions (i.e. your User Story) without compensation to you. Please note, however, that under no circumstances are we or our successors or assigns to be in a less favorable situation than we or they would have been had we not secured from you the rights, privileges, powers and/or immunities contained herein. The rights granted herein shall also include the right to edit, delete, dub and/or otherwise modify all writings, photographs and recordings subject hereof as we see fit in our sole discretion. You acknowledge that we will rely on this permission potentially, at substantial cost to us and hereby agree not to assert any claim of any nature whatsoever against anyone relating to the exercise of the permissions granted hereunder. You acknowledge that we have no obligation to include you, your User Story and/or any Submission in the Project. If you are under the age of 18, and your story is being considered for song fodder, you and a parent or guardian will be asked to sign and email or fax a release similar to this. That’s when we can also get permission to use your name or any specific descriptive characteristics with the release of the song. This final step means we will get to work with what you wrote, so be sure to leave valid emails, Facebooks, and phone numbers when submitting so we find you again.
